Overview
The KOOLABABY Baby Bedside Sleeper is a bassinet and bedside crib designed to sit directly next to a parent's bed, giving caregivers easy access to their baby during nighttime feedings and check-ins. It features height adjustment to help line it up with different bed frames, wheels for repositioning around a room, and a folding design intended to make storage and transport more manageable. It's available in a pink colorway marketed for girls, with a price point of $169.99 and a strong 4.7-star rating across 358 reviews.
Who It's For
This bedside sleeper is best suited to parents who want their newborn within arm's reach overnight without sharing the same bed surface. It can be a good fit for breastfeeding parents who want to minimize the distance for nighttime feeds, as well as for smaller bedrooms where a large standalone bassinet or crib might feel cumbersome. Because it folds, it may also appeal to parents who need to move it between rooms or pack it away during the day.
How It Compares
Compared to a standalone bassinet, a bedside model like this one is built specifically to attach alongside an adult bed rather than stand independently in the middle of a room. Standalone bassinets offer more placement flexibility but create more distance between baby and parent at night. Full-size cribs, on the other hand, are intended for longer-term use but lack the portability and close-proximity design of a bedside sleeper. Within the bedside bassinet category, features to compare include height adjustment range, ease of folding, and overall portability — all of which this model addresses with its adjustable frame, wheels, and fold-down design.
Conclusion
For parents prioritizing closeness during the newborn stage without bed-sharing, the KOOLABABY Bedside Sleeper offers a practical combination of adjustability, mobility, and foldability at a mid-range price point. As with any bedside sleeper, it's worth confirming bed height compatibility and reviewing the manufacturer's age and weight guidelines before use.
